If you are a family with children, you may want to consider combining a beach and sea camping holiday with forays into Venice. The following camping ground is the nearest to the city, with regular vaporetto connections.
This sprawling, well-equipped complex opens onto an attractive Adriatic beach and has a pool, shop, newsagent, launderette, cash point and restaurant and bar on site. It costs €19 to pitch your tent in high season and an additional €9 per person. Various bungalows and mobile homes are also available. The cheapest ‘Cavallino’ (four-person) caravan has WC and kitchen facilities which cost €65 plus €9 per person, during high season.
There are many enormous camp sites with available bungalows between Punta Sabbioni and Jesolo, the peninsula north of the Venice Lagoon.
