Where to park in Venice

Traveling to Venice by car is easy. For more info, see our article on how to reach Venice by car. Parking your car in Venice is not the easiest yet a fully manageable task. Most options available to tourists charge a fee, but some are cheaper than others. We’ll tell you about all the possibilities, so you can choose what’s best for you. 

Parking in Venezia Mestre

There are two parts of Venice - the mainland and the island part. The famous Ponte della Liberta, or the Liberty Bridge, is the only road connecting the two regions. There are a few parking options before and after crossing the bridge. Before crossing the bridge, you’ll find yourself in the Venezia Mestre. Parking spaces in this area are much cheaper. You can try Garage Europa or Delfino Autorimessa. The only downside is that it’s further from the city center, but public transport in Venice is fast and affordable. You can take a train or a bus and arrive in the city in minutes. 

Parking in Tronchetto, Piazzale Roma, and Punta Sabbioni

Once you cross the bridge, you can turn right and reach Tronchetto or go straight to Piazzale Roma. There are two major parking garages in Tronchetto, so you’ll most likely secure a spot in one or the other. From there you can take a vaporetto to the center and enjoy the sightseeing. On Piazzale Roma, there is a 10-story municipal parking garage. You can book your parking spot online before visiting Venice and park stress-free. There are also a few private parking garages on Piazzale Roma, but they tend to be pricey. The least popular yet available option is to park at Punta Sabbioni. However, it’s very far from Venice - about half an hour by water. The parking there is likely the cheapest in all of Venice.
